Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I’m ready for this?
If you’re looking for an opportunity to deepen your yoga practice or have even the slightest desire to teach yoga, this program is for you!
Do I have to want to teach to participate?
There will be a lot of practice teaching as a part of this training, but that doesn’t mean you need to teach upon graduating. Practice teaching will give you confidence and self awareness, which are awesome tools to have even if you don’t teach yoga.
What will a typical weekend look like?
Our schedule will be: Friday 5-9pm, Saturday, 9-7 and Sunday 9-7 with one hour for lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
You can count on lots of yoga practice, workshopping and interaction with your peers, as well as journaling exercises (we call this “inquiry”), and traditional coursework with note-taking. There will be lots of opportunities to practice teach, plus the occasional quiz or test.
Why should I do a program with Supernova Power Yoga here in Yarmouth?
Both Joe and Kate have studied extensively with the Baptiste Institute and are ready to support you in your growth as a practitioner and budding teacher of all levels of Power Vinyasa Yoga. You will have our unconditional support during these 4 months of training and beyond.
Will I graduate this training ready to teach yoga?
Yes! If you do the work, you will graduate this training with all of the necessary skills and competencies required to effectively lead people through a Power Vinyasa Yoga practice.
How will you support me after graduation?
We promise to be of unconditional support to you in your development as a yoga teacher. You can bend our ear anytime you have questions, concerns, or need guidance.
What is the Community Class Apprenticeship Program?
What is the Yoga Alliance?
The Yoga Alliance is a non-profit organization which provides regulation to Registered Yoga Schools (RYS) and Registered Yoga Teachers (RYTs). To register a teacher training, the school submits an overview of their curriculum, along with annual fees, to demonstrate that it meets Yoga Alliance’s standards for curriculum content and study hours. We are excited to say that our program is Yoga Alliance approved!
Participating in a Yoga Alliance approved program makes it possible for you to be able to teach all over the world, and gives you peace of mind that we are an approved & registered Yoga School!
If I need to miss a session, can I make up time?
We understand that life happens, so if you get sick or an emergency arises and you need to miss less than 8 hours of training, you can make up those hours with extra assignments or additional community class teaching time.
